TURCZENIUK, Irena. 1926-2008. Irena Turczeniuk, eighty-one, former teacher at Montreal High School and Rosemont High School, died after a long illness on March 15, 2008. Survived by sisters Susanna Kazaniwskyj and Halyna Szczerbaniuk; brother Bohdan Turczeniuk and nieces and nephews: Leo and Andrew Kazaniwskyj, George Szczerbaniuk and Maria Sosenko, Natalka Turczeniuk, Odarka Begej, Dmytryk Tureczeniuk and Malanka Higgins, with families. A funeral service was held at St-Sophie Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral, 6255 St-Michel, Montreal, on March 20, 2008. In lieu of flowers donations to "Metropolitan Ilarion Ukrainian School" where she was also a teacher.

I am sorry to learn of Miss Turczeniuks passing.She was a devoted teacher and loved her profession and her students. She inspired us with her knowledge,her presence and her belief that we all posessed the ability to atain greatness.You will be deeply missed and my condolences to her family and friends and my fellow students
